It was a great opportunity to work with Brad & Norma and their team at Sawatzky’s Furniture & Appliances. I was quite honored to hear from Norma when she asked if I would be interested in working with them in launching their social media – SAWATZKY’S FURNITURE & APPLIANCES FACEBOOK PAGE, and planning a couple of events, beginning with their Grand Opening.

Brad, Norma & their staff had a lot to celebrate – the new location of the furniture store in Altona, and the one-year anniversary since the purchase of the business. I assisted with some of the planning, and the morning of the Grand Opening event, as they revealed Sawatzky’s Furniture’s new store location in the Altona Mall. What a success it was! There was quite a crowd standing in the hall waiting for the store to open. All the windows were papered up, which only created more suspense for the public. At 10 a.m. the papers were torn off and opened for business! Coffee & cookies was served during the Grand Opening weekend. A special touch that Norma wanted to do was offer the first 50 ladies a gerbera daisy, but given the number of people there, Brad & Norma ended up buying all the gerbera daisies the florist had on hand.   The radio station was there with live broadcasting, and played plinko with customers and also giving away prizes. The big hit of course is that Sawatzky’s Furniture & Appliances is giving away $10,000 worth in prizes through a draw that one can enter for the month of April at any of the four locations. From the attendance, I can see that this business is welcomed and appreciated by the community.

There is a lot of history here, history that has been embraced throughout all four stores – Sawatzky’s Appliances (Altona & Winkler), Sawatzky’s Furniture (Altona), Sawatzky’s Furniture & Appliances (Morden).  When visiting any of the stores, you will find educated staff offering great customer service!
